For me tea, mindfulness and memory are inseparable. I can't take a single sip without being pulled inward to the present moment, while at the same time reminiscing along with the flavors brought forth. Feeling the warmth of a teacup in my hands or concentrating on a pour from a Gaiwan help to bring me out of a moment of anxiety or sadness. Tea enjoyed with good friends or in celebration will forever feel connected to those good feelings.
